The Wichita Wingnuts defeated the Saltdogs 8-3 Saturday night to complete the sweep and win the 2014 American Association Championship in front of 2,528 fans at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium Saturday night.
The Wichita Wingnuts scored six runs in the first inning and cruised to a 9-2 victory over the Saltdogs at Haymarket Park Thursday night to take a commanding two-games-to-none lead in the American Association Championship Series.
The Saltdogs rallied furiously with seven runs in the eighth inning but fell to the Wichita Wingnuts 11-7 at Haymarket Park, giving Wichita a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five American Association Championship Series.
The Saltdogs begin the 2014 American Association Championship Series Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m. at Haymarket Park against the Wichita Wingnuts.

The Winnipeg Goldeyes (2-1) rallied back from a 6-2, sixth-inning deficit, plating five unanswered to top the Saltdogs (1-2) 7-6 in 10 innings to take the series lead in game three of the best-of-five semifinals in front of 2,094 fans at Haymarket Park Saturday night.
