On a cool, drizzly night that featured an 81-minute rain delay in the third, Marquis Fleming was marvelous on the mound as the Saltdogs (1-1) held off the Winnipeg Goldeyes (1-1) 3-2 to even up the best-of-five semifinal series in front of 3,521 fans at Shaw Park Thursday night.
The Saltdogs (0-1) exploded out of the gate with four runs in the top of the first but the Winnipeg Goldeyes (1-0) scored six unanswered to take game one of the best-of-five American Association Division Series 6-4 in front of 4,013 fans at Shaw Park Wednesday night.

After clinching the Central division title following a rain out Sunday, the Saltdogs split a double header with the Sioux City Explorers in front of 4,579 fans to wrap up the regular season at Haymarket Park Monday afternoon.
With a Gary loss at Winnipeg Sunday night, the Saltdogs clinched the 2014 American Association Central Division Championship, and have earned a playoff berth for the first time since 2010.
