Throughout the history of the Lincoln Saltdogs, the players’ host families have always been the unsung heroes of the team. While big-league ballplayers make big-league bucks, the vast majority of minor-league players are young athletes who need not only a place to stay, but also some helpful guidance as they may be far from home for the first time in their lives. A host family gives a player a home away from home, and allows him to relax and pursue his dream of making it to the major leagues.

Each season, caring households all over Lincoln open their doors to Saltdogs players. Are you interested in becoming a Lincoln Saltdogs host family this year? For hosting a player or players, you will receive season tickets to every Saltdogs home game.  Some families often host two players if they have room.  You’ll also be invited to special host family events throughout the year. Players usually arrive around the first week of May and depart in the first or second week of September, making the commitment a little over four months.
