KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Tyson Gillies launched a walk-off home run to complete the sweep for the Kansas City T-Bones (33-42) in a 4-3 victory over the Saltdogs (40-35) in front of 3,225 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark Wednesday night.
Lincoln took a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the eighth before the T-Bones rallied to tie the game against Stephen Shackleford.
Gillies’ game-winning blast was the first home run that All Star closer Evan Reed had allowed all season.
Ryan O’Sullivan was spectacular, pitching seven shutout innings while allowing just three hits in the no-decision.
Curt Smith and Rene Leveret each homered in the losing effort.
The loss was the fifth straight for Lincoln and the ninth in the last 11 games, reducing their division lead over Sioux City to 1 1/2 games.
