LINCOLN – The Lincoln Saltdogs announced today that they signed left-handed pitcher Nick Hornbaker to a contract.  Hornbaker takes the roster spot vacated by RHP Brian McAfee who had his contract purchased by the Seattle Mariners on Monday.

Hornbaker becomes just the second left-handed pitcher on the Saltdogs active roster.  The 22-year-old finished his collegiate career this year and jumped right into the Pecos League.  He played for the Santa Fe Fuego and posted a 2-0 record with a 3.20 ERA over 20 games.  He recorded three saves while striking out 41 batters in 33.2 innings.

Hornbaker played at Lock Haven (Pennsylvania) University.  He was 3-1 with a one save over 10 appearances in his senior year.  He struck out 27 batters in 24.1 innings pitched for the Division Two school.

The Saltdogs (43-24) try to get a series-opening win against the Kansas City T-Bones tonight.  First pitch is at 6:45 PM with coverage beginning at 6:15 PM on ESPN 1480 and saltdogs.com.

Tickets are on sale and can be purchased by calling (402) 474-2255 or visiting Saltdogs.com.  For the latest information on the Saltdogs follow the team on Facebook and Twitter/Instagram @saltdogsball.
