CLEBURNE, TX – The Lincoln Saltdogs made two moves over the past two days.  They signed third baseman and center fielder Joe Robbins to his first professional contract while releasing left-handed pitcher Carson McPherson on Wednesday.  On Thursday, the club activated LHP Bennett Parry from the Disabled List and put infielder Creighton Wilke on the Disabled List.

Parry rejoins the active roster with a 1.26 ERA in six starts, the lowest ERA among qualifying pitchers in the American Association.  The southpaw last pitched on June 16th against Gary SouthShore when he went five innings without surrendering a run.  Opponents are hitting .195 against Parry this season, registering just 25 hits in 35.2 innings pitched.

Parry pitched in four games with the Saltdogs last season before being released due to injury.  He spent parts of five seasons in the Baltimore Orioles organization before coming to Lincoln.

Parry, a San Diego native, started last night against the Cleburne Railroaders and allowed one unearned run over four innings.  He was battling a groin injury while on the DL.

Wilke played two games for the Saltdogs since being signed on June 29th.  The Lincoln East graduate was 1-3 with a double and a walk yesterday.  The double was his first professional hit.

Robbins just finished his senior season at Louisiana-Lafayette.  The 23-year-old played 195 games over five seasons with the Ragin Cajuns.  He hit .262 with 19 home runs and 103 RBIs over his career.

The Pineville, Louisiana native was a first-team All-Sun Belt Conference player as a third baseman his senior season.  He hit .277 with six home runs and nine stolen bases in his 2017 season helping his team to the Sun Belt regular season conference championship.

McPherson pitched in four games for the Saltdogs and logged 3.2 innings.  He allowed four hits over that span and was not charged with a run.  The rookie from Oklahoma Baptist University made his pro debut on June 18th against Gary SouthShore.
