Walter Borkovich returns to the Saltdogs for his second season after making his American Association debut in 2021 but not throwing because of Tommy John surgery in 2022. Borkovich appeared in 23 games for the ‘Dogs in 2021 and finished with 68 strikeouts in 65 and 2/3 innings. The Michigan native pitched collegiately at Michigan State University before signing with the Atlanta Braves in 2017. Borkovich reached Triple-A Gwinnett in the Braves organization in 2019 and spent three seasons with the Braves overall. Borkovich was a Big Ten standout in his collegiate career, going 12-7 with a 3.05 ERA in 89 career appearances at Michigan State University, and Borkovich also made nine appearances with Brewster in the prestigious Cape Cod League in the summer of 2016.
