The former 3rd round pick of the Kansas City Royals is a product of The Woodlands HS in The Woodlands, TX. Carter has a career 14-13 record with a 4.56 ERA in 112 games and 31 starts. Following 5 seasons in the Kansas City Royals organization, Hope pitched in Fargo-Moorhead in the 2019 season. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he did not play in the 2020 season.
