The Saltdogs secured three more pieces for their 2015 roster in late January, signing returning players OF Jon Gaston, SS Mike Gilmartin and INF Trevor Martin.
In 46 games for the Saltdogs last season, Gaston hit a career-best .287 with 12 home runs and 42 RBI.
A former seventh-round pick by the Astros out of the University of Arizona, Gaston will be entering his eighth season of professional ball and his second in Lincoln.
Gaston led the American Association with 13 outfield assists in 2013, despite playing only 58 games.
Gilmartin joined the Saltdogs two weeks into the 2014 campaign, and started 88 games at shortstop in helping lead the ‘Dogs to the A.A. Championship Series.
The 27-year old from Moorpark, Calif. caught fire after July, leading the Saltdogs with a .370 batting average over the final 31 games in 2014.
Martin, a 23-year old from Seattle, hit .170 in 22 games for Lincoln in 2014.
A former 20th round pick of the Cardinals, Martin hit .373 in 29 games for the Single-A Peoria Chiefs in 2013.
