FARGO, North Dakota – Josh Altmann hit a three-run homer, Welington Dotel had four hits, and the Saltdogs evened the series with a 7-2 win over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at Newman Outdoor Field on Saturday night.

Altmann’s homer gave the ‘Dogs a 5-0 lead in the 2nd inning, and Lincoln (23-21) recorded 13 hits for the second consecutive night.

Lincoln took a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning. Ryan Long’s fielder’s choice scored Altmann to open the scoring, and Matt Goodheart hit a two-out RBI single that made it 2-0.

After Altmann’s homer, the first of four singles from Dotel scored Skyler Weber and gave Lincoln a 6-0 lead in the 2nd. Dotel added another run with a two-out single in the 4th.

Garett Delano allowed two runs over 6 and 1/3 innings – his second straight quality start – before Matt Cronin tossed a scoreless inning of relief. Carter Hope recorded the final four outs and had one strikeout.

All nine Saltdogs starters reached safely, while Ryan Long extended his hitting streak to six and Weber extended his to a season-high five.

Taylor Bloye allowed seven runs over five innings in his debut for the RedHawks (32-13), who lost for only the fourth time in the their last 20 games.

The series concludes on Sunday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., and pregame coverage begins at 12:30 p.m. on ESPN Lincoln 101.5 FM/1480 AM.
