FARGO, ND – RHP Foster Pace’s Saltdogs debut lead Lincoln to their first series win of 2024 over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.

Pace goes 7.0 innings and gives up three hits, one run which was earned, one walk, and struck out six batters.  It was just his second start in his last 26 outings dating back to 2023.

OF Zane Zurbrugg opened up the scoring with an RBI single in the second innings, his first RBI of the year, driving in INF Alex Baeza.

The RedHawks would go on to tie the game in the home half of the third.  Fast forward to the seventh and OF Aaron Takacs comes through and drives in INF Drew Devine to take a 2-1 lead.

Fargo would tie it once again in the bottom of the eighth inning and both teams would go scoreless in the ninth sending Lincoln to their first extra-inning game of the season.

In the 10th the Saltdogs scored three runs on three straight wild pitches as OF Matt Pita, Takacs, and Baeza would all score.  C Max Hewitt would single and come in to score on a Zurburgg sacrifice fly to right field.  Finally, Devine picked up an RBI single to cap off a five-run 10th inning.

RHP Wyatt Sparks would start off the bottom half of the 10th innings before RHP Dan Kubiuk would come in and finish the job.

Lincoln is now 2-1 on the season, and 1-0 in series to begin 2024.  They have already matched their win total at Newman Outdoor Field from a season ago as the ‘Dogs were 2-4 on the road against the RedHawks.

Lincoln continues their road trip in Sioux City, Iowa starting Monday as they open up a three-game set with the Explorers.
