The Saltdogs battled back from an early six-run deficit but the Sioux Falls Pheasants pulled away late in a 12-6 series-opening victory at The Birdcage Thursday night.

The series finale between the Saltdogs and Laredo Lemurs Wednesday night has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a double header on July 31.

Chris Chavez stymied the Saltdogs bats, allowing just five hits in a complete game victory as the Laredo Lemurs downed Lincoln 7-2 in the series opener at Haymarket Park Monday night.

John Alonso hit two more long balls and the Saltdogs scored the game's final 10 runs to come back and beat the New Jersey Jackals 11-5 in front of 3,205 fans at Haymarket Park Sunday evening.

The Saltdogs squandered an early eight-run lead but battled back and won a seesaw game over the New Jersey Jackals 14-13 on a John Alonso walk-off single in front of 2,717 fans at Haymarket Park Saturday night.
