POMONA, N.Y. — Nate Wilder slugged a go-ahead grand slam in the sixth inning to help lead the Saltdogs (41-58) to a 7-6 victory over the Rockland Boudlers (47-52) at Provident Bank Park Sunday evening.
Wilder’s laser of a grand slam was tucked neatly inside the right field foul pole to give the Lincoln Northstar product his second professional homer, and the ‘Dogs a 7-5 lead.
Ryan Sheldon (7-4) pitched five innings, allowing five runs on eight hits to get the win. Rob Savarese (0-1) allowed two runs on one hit in relief to suffer the loss.
P.J. Zocchi allowed a solo shot in the bottom of the ninth but buckled down to earn his 24th save, extending his own single-season club record.
