LINCOLN — The Kansas City T-Bones (15-23) jumped out to an early lead and coasted to a 6-1 victory over the Saltdogs (18-19) in front of 2,395 fans at Haymarket Park Tuesday night.
After a Tyler Massey RBI single, Jake Blackwood smacked a solo home run in the top of the first to put the T-Bones in front 2-0.
Austin Darby launched his first professional homer, a solo shot in the bottom of the first for Lincoln’s lone run.
The T-Bones tallied a run in the second and two more in the third to build their advantage to 5-1.
Jared Messer (2-0) pitched eight innings, allowing one run on five hits to earn the win.
Ryan O’Sullivan (1-3) pitched 8 1/3 innings, yielding five earned on eight hits while striking out four and walking two to take the loss.
The Saltdogs have now dropped a season-high five games in a row, and are below .500 for the first time this season.
