LINCOLN — The Kansas City T-Bones (29-20) dominated the Saltdogs (22-32) 11-0 to win the series in front of 3,961 fans at Haymarket Park Saturday night.
Nate Tenbrink went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double and seven RBI. Tenbrink swatted a grand slam to highlight a six-run second inning for Kansas City, five of which came with two outs.
Kris Regas (4-3) pitched six scoreless innings, yielding just three hits to book the win. Kevin McGovern (3-4) was battered for nine runs in 5 1/3 innings to take the loss.
The Saltdogs were held to three runs over the four-game series. Kansas City shutout the Saltdogs twice, and Lincoln blanked the T-Bones once.
Curt Smith went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk in the losing effort.
Robby Kuzdale led off the ninth inning with a solo home run to left.
The 11-run margin is the Saltdogs’ most lopsided defeat of the season.
Lincoln, who finished the home stand 5-3, are off Sunday before beginning a seven-game road trip Monday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Sioux City Explorers. RHP Shairon Martis will battle RHP Jeff Marquez in a duel of former big leaguers. Radio coverage begins at 6:35 p.m. on KFOR.
