LINCOLN – The Saltdogs will play a seven-game exhibition schedule leading up to the 2014 campaign, beginning with road tune-ups May 6 and 7 before five games at Haymarket Park.
The season-ticket holder’s party and exhibition home opener for the Saltdogs is Thursday, May 8 at 6:05 p.m. against the Kansas City T-Bones. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for an opportunity to meet the 2014 Saltdogs players.
The canned-food drive for the Food Bank of Lincoln kicks off Friday, May 9 at 6:05 p.m. as the Saltdogs host the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Haymarket Park. If you bring a canned food item to the ballpark on any of the three weekend games you will receive free admission.
Lincoln takes on Winnipeg again on Saturday, May 10 at 12:05 p.m. and then plays Kansas City on Sunday, May 11 at 2:05 p.m. In addition to the canned-food drive, all moms get free admission to the ballpark for Mother’s Day.
The ‘Dogs begin the exhibition slate May 6 at Kansas City before traveling up to Hinton, Iowa on May 7 to battle Sioux City.
Tickets for the preseason games at Haymarket Park are $5, and fans can sit wherever they please.
The Saltdogs open up the 2014 season in earnest on May 15 at Kansas City. The home opener is set for May 23 at 7:05 p.m. against Winnipeg.
