LINCOLN, NE – The Lincoln Saltdogs signed rookie catcher Jackson Pritchard to a contract yesterday.  The Saltdogs placed catcher Dashenko Ricardo on the Disabled List retroactive to August 13.

Pritchard joins the Saltdogs after splitting time between the travel teams in the Can-Am League.  The righty played in 17 games for Salina and Hollywood and hit .176 with one RBI.  He caught three runners stealing and made just one error in the Can-Am League.

The 22-year-old also played 27 games for the Roswell Invaders in the Pecos League this season.  He hit .294 with five homers and 25 RBIs for the club.  He hit .243 with five homers in 33 games for Roswell in 2017.

Pritchard spent two seasons at Division Two University of Texas of the Permian Basin.  He batted .223 with three homers for the Falcons.

Ricardo goes to the Disabled List after injuring his foot in Sunday’s game.  The catcher fouled a ball off his foot in the first at bat of the third inning.  After the trainer inspected him, he remained in the game and smacked a go-ahead home run.  Ricardo came up again later in the inning.  The right-hander fouled another pitch off his foot and was replaced by Daniel Herrera.

Ricardo was batting .295 with five home runs and 30 RBIs over 63 games this season.  He had a five-game hit streak before going to the DL.

The Saltdogs face the Wichita Wingnuts in a doubleheader Wednesday night beginning at 5:00 PM.  First pitch can be heard at https://www.americanassociationbaseball.tv/ and the broadcast will be picked up on ESPN 101.5 FM 1480 AM and http://www.espn1480.com/lincoln-saltdogs-baseball/ at 6:00 PM.
