Nic Laio returns to the Lincoln Saltdogs for his second season after a brief cameo with the ‘Dogs at the end of 2022. Laio appeared in four games to finish the season, allowing five runs in 9 and 1/3 innings, and he also appeared in the Sept. 9 playoff game at Kansas City. Laio was previously in the Florida Complex League with the FCL Pirates to begin 2022 after he spent two seasons with the Texas Rangers organization, reaching Single-A Down East in 2021. Laio was college teammates with fellow Saltdog infielder Drew Devine at Western Michigan University, where Laio went 7-6 with a 4.76 ERA in 50 appearances from 2016-2018. In total, this will be Laio’s fourth season of professional baseball.
