LINCOLN – The Lincoln Saltdogs activated right-handed pitcher Carlos Pimentel from the Disabled List and placed RHP Robby Rowland on the DL.
Pimentel was put on the DL one week ago to allow him to be with his wife for the birth of their first child.
The veteran hurler has made one start for the Saltdogs in 2017. Pimentel earned the win in a quality start that lasted six innings and included nine strikeouts. He surrendered just two runs that both came on solo home runs.
The 27-year-old is pitching in his 10th season of professional baseball. He pitched in Triple-A in parts of each of the past four seasons. He holds a career record of 69-62 with a 4.20 ERA.
Rowland goes to the DL after being hit by a line drive during his start on Friday night against Cleburne. Rowland is 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA in two starts this season.
Pimentel is scheduled to star today’s game for the Saltdogs as they look to split a four game series with the Cleburne Railroaders. First pitch is at 2:05 PM at Haymarket Park and coverage begins at 1:35 PM on ESPN 1480 and saltdogs.com.
