TROIS-RIVIERES, P.Q., Qué. — Kevin McGovern twirled a six-hit shutout and Ian Gac entered beast mode yet again as the Saltdogs (28-28) blanked the Trois-Rivieres Aigles (18-33) 5-0 in front of 1,538 fans at Stade Fernand-Bedard Wednesday night.

McGovern (1-0) was masterful, setting up his upper-80's fastball with a steady dose of breaking balls from the left side, striking out seven and walking only one to turn in the first nine-inning complete game shutout by a 'Dogs hurler in 2014.

Gac went 4-for-5 with a home run, his 12th, a double and three RBI to lead Lincoln offensively.

The Saltdogs scored three runs in the third inning and added runs in the fifth and seventh innings to even up the inter-league series.

Chad Mozingo finished 2-for-3 with two walks and a run in his first game since suffering an ankle injury July 5 at Grand Prairie.

Luis Nunez and Mike Gilmartin also collected multi-hit games for the Saltdogs, who racked up 13 hits and stranded 12 runners on base.

The clubs are back at it for the rubber game Thursday night at 6:05 p.m. CT. Radio coverage begins at 5:35 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
