LINCOLN — After two middle-inning lead changes and a seventh-inning equalizer, the Wichita Wingnuts (65-31) got the game-winner on a two-out double in the eighth to beat the Saltdogs (48-48) 5-4 in front of 4,248 fans at Haymarket Park Thursday night.
 
With the score tied at 4-4, Jared McDonald stroked a two-out pitch down the right field line to plate the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth.
 
Lincoln Holdzkom (2-4) pitched one inning, allowing a unearned run on two hits to get the win. P.J. Zocchi (6-1) surrendered a run on two hits in one inning to suffer the loss. Josh Dew worked a perfect ninth to book his 25th save of the season.
 
The Saltdogs fell behind 1-0 after three, then took the lead with a three-run rally in the bottom of the fifth.
 
Wichita plated three runs for itself in the top of the sixth, and Curt Smith tied the game with a RBI single up the middle in the seventh.
 
The 'Dogs have now dropped six in a row, and are back to .500 for the first time since mid-May.
