LINCOLN — Marquis Fleming was magnificent as the Saltdogs (20-22) blanked the Wichita Wingnuts (28-16) 2-0, shutting out the league's highest-scoring offense to win the series in front of 3,410 fans at Haymarket Park Sunday evening.
 
Fleming (4-3) took a no-hitter through 5 2/3 innings, finishing with six innings, allowing just two hits while walking three and fanning six to earn the win.
 
Matt Forgatch doubled to right center to begin the bottom of the first, moved to third on a Jeremy Hamilton single then scored on a Brian Joynt sacrifice fly to center to give the Saltdogs a 1-0 lead.
 
Lincoln added another in the fifth on a Joynt RBI single to left.
 
Jhonny Montoya pitched two scoreless innings of relief for Lincoln and Marshall Schuler worked a perfect ninth for his league-leading 14th save.
 
Jason Van Skike (4-2) pitched six innings, surrendering two runs on seven hits while striking out four and walking one but took the loss.
 
Forgatch finished the evening 3-for-4 with a run. Joynt wrapped up the weekend totaling five hits and five RBI as the 'Dogs took two of three from a Wichita club that has the best record in the league.
 
Lincoln has a travel day Monday and opens a six-game road trip in Laredo at 7:30 p.m. RHP Justin Kuks (2-0, 4.40) is expected to pitch for the Saltdogs against RHP Josh Strawn (3-4, 3.71). Radio coverage begins at 7 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
