LAREDO, Texas — The Saltdogs (21-22) muscled their way to a season high in runs as they drubbed the Laredo Lemurs (22-20) 12-7 in front of 1,988 fans at Uni-Trade Stadium Tuesday night.

Chad Mozingo started the festivities by leading off the series with a opposite field solo homer, in his first at-bat since Wednesday (hamstring).

Mike Gilmartin spanked a two-run shot to the opposite to left center in the second as Lincoln scored the first five runs of the game.

Justin Kuks (3-0) pitched six innings, allowing two runs on nine hits to earn the victory. Kuks has picked up victories in each of his last three starts, with the previous two coming against the Lemurs.

Josh Strawn (3-5) gave up eight runs – five earned – on 12 hits to suffer the loss.

Ian Gac swatted a two-run shot in the ninth, and finished the series opener 4-for-6 with a home run, a double, three runs and four RBI.

Mozingo ended a double shy of the cycle. Kevin Howard also collected two hits and two RBI as Lincoln has now downed Laredo in three straight meetings, and have won three in a row for the first time in 2014.

The clubs are back at it Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. for the middle of the three-game set. RHP Nick Green (1-2, 3.19) is set to face RHP Tyler Pearson (4-4, 3.09) for the second time in eight days. Radio coverage begins at 7:06 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
