LINCOLN — The Winnipeg Goldeyes (6-3) got some more terrific relief pitching to stymie the Saltdogs (4-5) late in a 7-4 victory in front of 4,222 fans at Haymarket Park Saturday night.

After Lincoln plated two runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 4-2 lead, Goldeyes pitchers allowed just one hit the rest of the way to clinch the weekend series.

Winnipeg tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the fifth on a Donnie Webb solo home run to left, his first. The Fish added three runs on four hits in the top of the seventh off Saltdogs' reliever Jake Meiers to take the lead.

Gabe Aguilar (2-0) pitched 2 2/3 innings of relief, allowing one hit while striking out five to earn the win. Meiers (0-1) surrendered three runs in two innings out of the bullpen to suffer the loss. Chris Kissock pitched a hitless ninth to record his second save in as many nights.

Brian Joynt led the way offensively, going 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, executing a brilliantly-evasive slide into home on a Tyler Smith sacrifice fly in the second.

The Goldeyes pitching staff struck out 12 Saltdogs' hitters, and each team stranded eight runners on base. Winnipeg left the bases loaded in the second, the 'Dogs returned the favor in the fourth.

Lincoln looks to avoid the sweep Sunday afternoon at 2:05 p.m. RHP Nick Green (0-0, 0.00) will make his first start for the 'Dogs. LHP Chris Salamida (0-2, 15.43) will make the start for the Fish. Radio coverage begins at 1:35 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
