FARGO, N.D. — The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (31-50) scored three unearned runs with two out in the bottom of the seventh to come back and stun the Saltdogs (30-51) 4-2 in a rain-shortened contest in front of 3,380 fans at Newman Outdoor Field Tuesday night.
After a two-out infield single from Joe Dunigan got Fargo on the board under a steady rainfall, the Redhawks capitalized on consecutive errors to take a 4-2 lead in the seventh.
Shortly after the fourth Fargo run, the umpires announced a rain delay and 28 minutes later with no letup in precipitation, the game was called official.
Tyler Herron (5-7) pitched seven innings, allowing two runs – one earned – to earn the win.
Conor Spink (4-6) allowed two unearned runs on one hit to take the loss. Shairon Martis pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing just one hit and one earned while walking two and striking out five.
Martis allowed just a single and hit batsman through six innings, but picked both runners off first base.
