LINCOLN, Nebraska – Forrestt Allday hit an walk-off single to right-center to cap a two-run 9th inning, and the Saltdogs beat the Milwaukee Milkmen, 4-3, for their second consecutive walk-off win at Haymarket Park on Wednesday night.
Allday’s one-out single came with the bases loaded after Edgar Corcino legged out a game-tying infield single to score David Vidal, and Lincoln (51-44) clinched its first winning season since 2018.
Milwaukee (55-40) took a 1-0 lead on Cole Sturgeon’s RBI single in the 1st, and Will Kengor hit a two-run homer to make it 3-0 in the 4th.
Curt Smith’s two-out, two-run single got Lincoln within a run in the 6th before the two-run rally in the 9th.
Garett Delano allowed three runs on five hits over five innings, but Josh Norwood tossed two shutout innings and Tyler Anderson allowed just one hit over 1.2 scoreless frames for his fourth win of the year.
Corcino’s game-tying infield single extended his hitting streak to five games, while David Vidal’s double was his second extra-base hit in the series. Skyler Weber extended his hitting streak to four in the 9th inning, and Allday finished with three hits and is now 6-for-15 over his four-game hitting streak.
Yanio Perez walked twice for the second time in as many games, and Smith’s two RBIs gave him 50 for the season.
The ‘Dogs have now won three consecutive games and five straight against Milwaukee. Lincoln can sweep the series tomorrow night at 6:05 p.m., and coverage will begin at the conclusion of Hail Varsity Radio on ESPN Lincoln 101.5 FM/1480 AM.
