LINCOLN, Nebraska – Josh Altmann scored on Ryan Long’s 11th inning sacrifice fly moments after Altmann became Lincoln’s first-ever 20-homer, 20-steal player, and the Saltdogs walked-off the Milkmen 10-9 for the franchise’s 1000th win on Tuesday night at Haymarket Park.

BOX SCORE

Altmann walked to begin the 11th, and stole his 20th base of the season while a throwing error allowed him to reach third base. Long’s sacrifice fly was his second walk-off winner this year, and the ‘Dogs now have a league-best 20 wins in one-run games.

Lincoln (50-44) had an 8-4 lead after back-to-back homers from Altmann and Long in the 6th, but Milwaukee (55-39) got three in the 7th – including a two-run homer from Adam Brett Walker II, his 30th on the year – before Will Kengor tied the game with an RBI double in the 9th.

Mikey Reynolds gave the Milkmen a lead with his two-out infield single in the 10th before David Vidal tied the game with a solo homer to leadoff the bottom of the 10th.

Derrick Adams allowed four runs over four innings in his first start for the Saltdogs, while Jake Hohensee tossed two scoreless frames. Carter Hope allowed three runs in the 7th, while Carson Lance struck out three over 1.1 innings.

James Pugliese blew his fourth save in the 9th, and David Zoz allowed the go-ahead run in the 10th. Walter Borkovich went 1-2-3 in the 11th and picked up his second win of the year.

The ‘Dogs and Milkmen combined for a season-high seven homers, including a two-run homer from Edgar Corcino in the 3rd and the back-to-back homers from Altmann and Long.

Lincoln, Cleburne and Sioux City each won, so the ‘Dogs are still two games back of Cleburne and a half-game ahead of Sioux City – but without either tiebreaker.

The series continues at 6:05 p.m. on Wednesday, and pregame coverage begins after the conclusion of Hail Varsity Radio on ESPN Lincoln 101.5 FM/1480 AM.
