The Saltdogs are excited to announce an exhibition game against the Sioux City Explorers on May 12 in Seward!
The Saltdogs will host an exhibition game at the Plum Creek Memorial Field in Seward on Thursday, May 12th at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12, and with your ticket you’ll receive a ticket voucher for the June 19th ballgame against Gary SouthShore at Haymarket Park. That’s two Saltdogs games for just $12!
Tickets can be purchased through the Seward County Chamber & Development Partnership or at the gate the night of the game.
Jamie Moyer, World Series Champion and MLB All-Star, will speak with the players that afternoon, followed by his participation in the Saltdogs festivities that evening in Seward.
Together with his wife Karen, they created The Moyer Foundation in 2000 with a mission to provide comfort, hope and healing to children affected by loss and family addiction. The Moyer Foundation created and supports Camp Erin®, the largest national network of free bereavement camps for children and teens including locations in every Major League Baseball city, and in Nebraska in cooperation with Mourning Hope.
Camp Erin is a weekend-long, overnight bereavement camp designed for children between the ages of 6-17 who have experienced the death of someone close to them. It is a traditional, fun, high-energy camp experience combined with grief education. This special camp is offered free of charge to all families. Mourning Hope is currently accepting registrations for the next Camp Erin Lincoln which will be held at Carol Joy Holling, September 23rd – 25th, 2016. Potential campers are encouraged to register soon as space is limited and the camp is already over half full.
May 12th will mark Mourning Hope’s 11th annual “Hope in the Morning” breakfast. The fundraising event is a benefit for the Mourning Hope Grief Center and will be held at the Country Club of Lincoln on Thursday, May 12th, from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m., with Moyer serving as event speaker.
