CLEBURNE, Texas – Forrestt Allday had two hits and a game-tying RBI single in the 8th inning, but the ‘Dogs gave up the go-ahead run in the bottom of the 8th in a 3-2 loss to the Cleburne Railroaders on Wednesday night at The Depot.

Trailing 2-0 entering the 7th, Cody Regis broke a 15-game homerless drought with his 12th home run – a solo shot to halve the deficit.

Daniel Herrera led off the 8th with a double to left-center, and after he reached third on a groundout, Allday drove a payoff pitch to center field that tied the game.

In the bottom of the 8th, Daniel Robertson was hit by a pitch to begin the inning and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. With one out, Chase Simpson clubbed an RBI double to give Cleburne the lead for good.

Austin Pettibone gave up the run in the 8th after John Brownell tossed seven innings and allowed just two runs. Cleburne opened the scoring with Simpson’s sacrifice fly in the 1st, and Grant Buck drove in another run with an RBI double in the 2nd.

Randolph Oduber extended his hitting streak to seven games, but Christian Ibarra’s season-high six game hitting streak came to an end.

The ‘Dogs have lost seven straight games on the road, and the series wraps up Thursday night at 7:06 p.m. Pregame coverage begins at 6:35 p.m. on ESPN Lincoln 101.5 FM/1480 AM.
