FARGO, ND – INF Jack Dragum stays hot as the Saltdogs used a complete performance to grab a 9-3 win over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.
Dragum homered for a second straight game to go along with two singles, a sacrifice fly, and two runs scored.
RHP Zach Keenan got the ball for the first time in 2024 on Saturday and settled in after giving up a first inning run. That would be the only run Keenan would surrender going 5.0 innings with four hits, one walk, and five strike outs.
INF Dakota Conners put on an impressive Saltdogs (1-0) debut in his first start going 2 for 4 with an RBI double, a single, and diving play at second to get the ‘Dogs out of a bases loaded jam in the third inning.
Infielders Drew Devine and Luke Roskam broke out as well recording their first hits of the season. Devine with had a pair of singles and drove in a run on a ground out to third, and Roskam with two singles, one RBI, a stolen base, and a walk. He also made two diving plays resulting in out in his first start at first base this season.
The Saltdogs bullpen only gave up two runs on two hits and struck out four in relief. RHP Bryan Perez and RHP Dan Kubiuk saw their Saltdogs debuts. Perez with a 1-2-3 sixth innings and Kubiuk with more of the same in the bottom of the ninth.
The RedHawks scored two more runs in the seventh thanks to INF Dillon Thomas’ two-run single and that would be it for Fargo.
