ROOKIE OF YEAR: MATT FORGATCH
The 2013 Saltdogs Rookie of the Year is Matt Forgatch. The 24-year old from San Marino, Calif. ranks fourth in the league with 33 steals, leads the Saltdogs with five triples and is second on the club with 56 RBI. All while playing outstanding defense all year long in left field. Congratulations Matt!
NEWCOMER OF YEAR: R.J. RODRIGUEZ
The 2013 Saltdogs Newcomer of the Year is R.J. Rodriguez. The 29-year old from Miami leads the league in saves with 27 and has set a new Saltdogs franchise record. The right-hander has preserved the win for Lincoln in 90% of his chances, and has now booked 131 saves in his outstanding career. Congratulations R.J.!
PITCHER OF YEAR: P.J. ZOCCHI
The 2013 Saltdogs Pitcher of the Year is P.J. Zocchi. The 28-year old the Bronx, New York has been one of the most dominant relievers in the league for Lincoln the last 3 years, but especially this summer. “The Fireman” is 6-0 with a razor-thin 1.48 ERA, and has struck out 52 batters in 42 innings. PLAYER OF YEAR: IAN GAC
The 2013 Saltdogs Player of the Year is Ian Gac. The 28-year old from Seattle leads the Dogs with a .326 batting average, 18 home runs and 59 RBI. The big fella is also best in the American Association in home runs and RBI per game. Congratulations Ian!
TRAINER OF YEAR: The Saltdogs are proud to announce that their very own Kyle Younkin has been named American Association Trainer of the Year. Kyle is in his third year as Head Athletic Trainer for the Saltdogs, and always makes sure to wear the same cap as the players. Congratulations Kyle!
