SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Curt Smith and Austin Gallagher each homered as the Saltdogs (45-40) exploded for a season-high performance in a 13-5 blowout of the Sioux Falls Canaries (30-56) in front of 3,693 fans at The Birdcage Saturday night.
Smith homered as part of a five-run, six-hit, four-double top of the first inning.
After Sioux Falls plated a pair of runs in both the second and third, debuting Saltdog Gallagher clubbed a towering three-run homer to right to extend Lincoln’s lead to 10-4 in the fourth.
Lincoln plated a season-high 13 runs on a season-high 19 hits.
Ryan O’Sullivan (4-3) pitched six innings, allowing three earned on three hits to earn the victory.
Luis Alen, Curt Smith, Gallagher and Jon Smith all had three hits a piece for the division title-minded ‘Dogs.
Curt was ejected in the middle of the ninth inning for arguing a call at first base.
