SIOUX CITY, IA – The Saltdogs had a runner on first with no one out in the top of the sixth when heavy rain came into Sioux City cutting game three between the Saltdogs and the Explorers short.  Sioux City takes the series two games to one with a 3-1 final on Wednesday.

LHP Abdallah Aris got his second start of the season going 5.0 innings giving up six hits, 3 runs all earned, three walks and no strikeouts.  He surpassed his first outing but a third of an inning as he went 4.2 innings in Fargo on opening night.

INF Jack Dragum continued to swing a hot bat as well as he put together a two-hit night in an abbreviated game as well as driving in INF Dakota Conners on one of those singles in the top of the fifth inning.

The Explorers took the lead first with two in the bottom of the third inning, fast forward to the fifth and the Saltdogs cut the lead in half 2-1 in the top of fifth.  The Explorers responded right away in the bottom half on a sacrifice fly to center field.  That made it a 3-1 ballgame.

OF Aaron Takacs led off the top of the sixth inning with a walk.  INF Luke Roskam would step to the plate and face a 1-1 count and that is when the official decision to head into the rain delay that would eventually end things in Sioux City.

The Saltdogs end the six-game road trip with a 3-3 record winning one of two series.  They head home for the opener tomorrow against the Cleburne Railroaders at 7:05 p.m. the first of four games in the series and the first of seven in the homestand.
