LINCOLN, Nebraska – Skyler Weber went 2-for-4 with a double, but the ‘Dogs lost 5-0 to the Kane County Cougars at Haymarket Park on Wednesday night.

Kane County (22-20) opened the scoring with a two-run homer from Dylan Busby – his second in as many games – in the 1st inning. In the 3rd, Jimmy Kerrigan’s two-out solo homer made it 3-0. Ernie De La Trinidad then hit a two-run homer to make it 5-0 in the 9th.

Weber’s multi-hit game was his fifth this year, and Hunter Clanin had a pair of singles for his eighth multi-hit effort this season.

Greg Minier allowed three runs over six innings, the left-hander’s fourth quality start of the year. Minier allowed eight hits but walked only one with five strikeouts.

Matt Cronin had two scoreless innings in relief and now hasn’t allowed an earned run in his first 10.1 innings as a Saltdog. Carson Lance allowed two runs in the 9th.

Kane County’s Jack Fox tossed six scoreless innings in his fourth start of the year.

The ‘Dogs (21-20) have lost six of seven and scored six runs over that span.
