HINTON, Iowa — Playing at a small high-school field in Hinton, Iowa, the Saltdogs racked up 24 hits and blasted seven home runs on their way to a 23-16 victory over the Sioux City Explorers in an exhibition game Wednesday night.
Lincoln fell behind 7-3 after the first inning, and 12-7 through two, but tacked on seven runs in the fourth frame to take a 14-12 lead and never looked back.
Constant winds blowing out, and the 320-360-320 field dimensions were very much conducive to the final football-esque score of the game, which concluded after eight innings.
