KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Saltdogs' five pitchers combined to strike out 11 in a five-hit shutout as Lincoln topped the Kansas City T-Bones 3-0 in an exhibition game at CommunityAmerica Ballpark Tuesday night.

Nick Green got the start for the Saltdogs in their pre-season opener. The right-hander went two innings, allowing one hit with one walk while striking out two.

Trey Barham, T.J. Bozeman and Ian Kadish followed that up with two scoreless innings a piece.

In the bottom of the ninth, with the 'Dogs leading 1-0, Mike Click allowed a two-out double to former big leaguer Danny Richar.

Brian Erie then stepped into the box and slapped a single to right field but Brian Joynt unleashed a perfect throw to the plate to retire Richar and end the ninth.

The Saltdogs hit in the top of the 10th because Kansas City wanted Michael Joyce to get an inning of work. Jon Gaston singled with one out and last year's home-run leader Ian Gac launched a two-run shot to left.
