LINCOLN — The Saltdogs took the first game 3-1 but dropped the nightcap by a score of 6-1 in 10 innings at Haymarket Park Tuesday night.

 

Tommy Palica (2-6) pitched six strong innings, allowing just one run in game one to pick up the victory. P.J. Zocchi worked a scoreless seventh for his 15th save.

 

Osvaldo Rodriguez (1-4) allowed three runs on three hits in three-plus innings to suffer the game one loss.

 

The Saltdogs scored three runs in the fifth, highlighted by a John Alonso RBI double to lead the club to its third straight victory.

 

In the nightcap, Laredo sprung for five runs in the top of the 10th to salvage the split.

 

Ryan Sheldon pitched well, going six innings while allowing just one unearned run but did not factor into the decision.

 

The clubs were making up for a May 30 rainout with two seven-inning contests.
