SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Despite another impressive outing from Joe Bisenius, the Saltdogs (14-12) could not complete the sweep as the Sioux Falls Canaries (12-15) earned a 4-1 victory at The Birdcage Wednesday afternoon.

Bisenius (3-2) pitched seven innings, allowing two earned on four hits while striking out nine and walking one but suffered the loss. The Lincoln ace has now fanned 29 hitters over his last three outings.

The Canaries tied the game in the bottom of the fourth on a Jared Clark RBI double. They took the lead with a Nick Van Stratten triple followed by a Jake Taylor sacrifice fly to make it 2-1 in the sixth.

Sioux Falls would add it's final run in the eighth on a Taylor home run, his third of the year.

Adam Champion (3-1) pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing one run on four hits, walking two and striking out four to earn the win. Alan DeRatt worked a scoreless ninth to notch his seventh save.

Saltdogs designated hitter Alejandro Gonzalez was ejected in the middle of the seventh for arguing balls and strikes.

Lincoln returns home Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. to open a four-game series against Kansas City. RHP Pete Parise (2-2, 3.60) will face LHP Aaron Meade (3-1, 3.56). Radio coverage begins at 6:35 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
