LINCOLN — The Saltdogs offense went bonkers early, Joe Bisenius turned in a strong outing as Lincoln (6-5) trounced the Winnipeg Goldeyes (8-2) 11-2 in front of 2,183 fans at Haymarket Park Sunday afternoon.
The Saltdogs scored 10 runs over the first three innings against Fish starter Alex Capaul. Ian Gac went 3-for-3 with two home runs, a double and five RBI over that span.
Bisenius (2-0) pitched seven innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out five and walking one to earn the win. Capaul (1-1) gave up 10 runs – eight earned – on 13 hits in three innings to wear the loss.
Every Saltdogs player had at least one hit in a season-high 17 hit performance. The 11 runs was also a season high.
Dennis Raben went 4-for-5. Gac finished 3-for-5 and has now hit six home runs and driven in 19 through 12 games.
David Espinosa hit a solo home run, his first, as part of a back-to-back long ball bonanza for the 'Dogs in the second.
The Saltdogs host the El Paso Diablos Monday night at 7:05 p.m. Moises Melendez (0-0, 7.36) will take the hill against RHP Luis Chirinos. Radio coverage begins at 6:35 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
