LINCOLN — After squandering an early 4-0 lead, the Saltdogs (25-26) rallied in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Laredo Lemurs (27-23) 10-9 in front of 2,696 fans at Haymarket Park Wednesday night.
 
Omar Luna singled in the tying run in the bottom of the ninth after Kevin Howard began the frame with a double to right center.
 
After Mike Gilmartin dropped a sacrifice bunt and Jeremy Hamilton reached on an infield single, Chris Anderson chopped a ball up the middle and beat out a potential double play at first base to allow Luna to score the winning run, for a walk-off fielder's choice.
 
Marshall Schuler (3-4) pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the win in relief. Chad Povich (1-2) allowed two runs in 2/3 of an inning to suffer the loss.
 
Ian Gac and Anderson each homered in the second to build the Saltdogs a 4-0 lead.
 
Laredo took its first lead of the game on a Nick Van Stratten two-run homer in the eighth, making it 9-8 Lemurs. Denis Phipps launched a three-run homer in the fourth inning.
 
The clubs combined to hit 11 home runs in the series opener and series finale.
 
The game was delayed 44 minute at the start due to rain, and the final 3 1/2 innings were played beneath precipitation of varying intensity.
 
The Saltdogs are flying east Thursday, and open a nine-game road trip in New Jersey Friday night at 6:05 p.m. CDT against the Jackals. Radio coverage begins at 5:35 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
