The Saltdogs’ exhibition game against the Gary SouthShore RailCats was delayed in the middle of the second inning – and ultimately cancelled – due to rain Sunday evening, with Lincoln leading 4-0.
Mike Gilmartin highlighted a four-run first-inning rally for the ‘Dogs with a two-run double to left.
Lincoln starter Jesse Smith allowed one hit over two scoreless innings, striking out four.
SATURDAY’S EXHIBITION: The Saltdogs fell to the Sioux City Explorers 6-5 in a 10-inning game in Kingsley, Iowa.
MONDAY MORNING: Lincoln has a Monday morning (10:35 a.m.) tune-up scheduled with Gary SouthShore at Haymarket Park, its final pre-season game before Friday night’s season opener in Kansas City.
