LINCOLN — For the second straight Wednesday night, the Saltdogs (7-6) won with a bases loaded walk, clipping the Texas AirHogs (6-7) 5-4 in front of 1,994 fans at Haymarket Park.
With the bases loaded and one out, Luis Alen drew the free pass, scoring Chase Harris to put the Saltdogs in front for good in the bottom of the eighth.
Evan Reed pitched a perfect ninth to earn his third save. Nigel Nootbaar worked a scoreless eighth for the victory.
The Saltdogs scored four runs in the second to grab an early lead, highlighted by a Brandon Jacobs RBI double down the left field line.
Casey Collins pitched 2 1/3 innings of one-hit relief in his 2016 Saltdogs debut.
Harris and Jacobs each turned in two-hit performances.
Texas scored two unearned runs in the third and tied the game with two in the fifth.
The victory snaps a four-game slide for Lincoln.
