AMARILLO, Texas — Six Amarillo pitchers combined to strike out 16 as the Sox (49-43) downed the Saltdogs (48-44) 5-2 in front of 2,887 fans at Amarillo National Bank Sox Stadium Saturday night.
 
The Sox tallied two runs in the third and added another in the fourth to build the early 3-0 lead. After Matt Forgatch singled in a run in the seventh, Amarillo responded with two in the last of the seventh, making the score 5-1.
 
Jason Mitchell (8-5) pitched 5 2/3 shutout innings, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out seven to earn the win. Erik Draxton struck out the side in a hitless ninth to book his 13th save.
 
Mike Burns (7-5) went six frames, allowing five runs on 12 hits while fanning four and walking two to suffer the loss.
 
All nine Sox starters had at least one hit in a 16-hit barrage. Chris Grossman and KC Serna led the way with three hits a piece.
