KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Saltdogs (2-2) racked up 15 hits and allowed just one hit in a 8-2 victory over the Kansas City T-Bones (2-2) to save the series split in front of 3,565 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark Sunday evening.
 
Lincoln jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning and did not look back, achieving the double-digit hit total for the third time in the four-game set.
 
Zachary Varce (1-0) pitched six scoreless innings, allowing no hits, walking eight and striking out five to earn the win.
 
Kansas City's lone hit came on a broken bat for Byron Wiley in the bottom of the seventh off Saltdogs reliever T.J. Bozeman.
 
Chris Anderson collected three hits and scored a run. Maikol Gonzalez, Jon Gaston, and Matt Forgatch each chipped in with multi-hit efforts.
 
The Saltdogs pitchers walked a season-high 14 batters in the win.
 
Lincoln opens a three-game series at the Grand Prairie AirHogs Monday night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Justin Kuks will make his Saltdogs' debut against RHP Ryan Searle. Radio coverage begins at 6:35 p.m. on KFOR 1240.
