ROSEMONT, IL – The Lincoln Saltdogs and Chicago Dogs made it to the middle of the second inning before rain forced Saturday’s game to be suspended.  The teams will resume play on Sunday starting at 3:30 PM.  Game two will be a seven-inning game and will start at 6:00 PM or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.

Both pitchers were effective at the start of the game.  Chicago (44-53) starter Jared Carkuff struck out four Saltdogs hitters and retired all six he faced.  Lincoln (50-47) starter Kyle Kinman dispatched of the Dogs in order in the first inning.

This is the sixth time this season the Saltdogs’ have experienced a postponement or suspension.  The Saltdogs are 8-4 in doubleheader games.
