Rolando Espinosa joins the Saltdogs for his first season, in 2025. A 5’11”, 204-pound infielder, Espinosa hails from Naples, Florida.  The Cuban-born infielder has spent time playing in AAA with the Sugarland Cowboys of the Pacific Coast League.  Most recently, Espinosa played for the Houston Astros Double-A affiliate, the Corpus Christi Hooks, of the Texas League.  With the Hooks, Espinosa played in 84 games, in 2024, hitting ten home runs, while adding eleven doubles.

2024: Played 84 games for the Corpus Christi Hooks (Double-A HOU) in the Texas League. He batted .223 with ten home runs and 39 runs batted in.

2023: Espinosa began the season with the Sugar Land Space Cowboys (Triple-A HOU) in the Pacific Coast League. He played in two games and had five plate appearances. Espinosa played in four games for Corpus Christi, batting .125 with one hit in eight plate appearances. He played 53 games for the Asheville Tourists (High-A HOU) in the South Atlantic League, batting .230 with five home runs and 21 runs batted in. He also played in 33 games for the Fayetteville Woodpeckers (Low-A HOU) in the Carolina League, batting .194 with six doubles and six rbi’s.

2022: Began the season in Sugar Land, playing five games for the Space Cowboys. He batted .056 with one hit in 18 plate appearances. Espinosa played three games in Corpus Christi, with four plate appearances. He played eight games in Fayetteville and batted .143 with three hits, including one double. He concluded the year playing 45 games for the Astros Orange in the Florida Complex League, batting .243 with six home runs and 32 runs batted in.

2019: Played 42 games for the Astros in the Gulf Coast League, batting .202 with one home run and 14 runs batted in.

2018: Espinosa played in 59 games for the Astros in the Dominican Summer League, batting .170 with one home run and ten rbi’s.
