Matt Cronin returns for his second season with the Lincoln Saltdogs after an outstanding 2022 in which he went 3-3 with a 1.99 ERA in 26 appearances after signing with the ‘Dogs in mid-June. Cronin allowed just 23 hits with 15 walks and 43 strikeouts across 40 and 2/3 innings, and he also recorded three saves down the stretch of Lincoln’s run to clinch a playoff spot. Cronin made his American Association debut with the traveling Houston Apollos in 2021, making 19 starts and totaling 90 innings while featuring in the rotation all season long. Cronin appeared in the USPBL and Pecos League to begin his professional career, and he was a standout at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth from 2016-2019. Cronin went 10-6 with a 2.03 ERA in his collegiate career and allowed just 100 hits in 159 and 1/3 college innings.
