James Pugliese, a familiar face for Saltdogs new manager Brett Jodie, joins the ‘Dogs with a resume consisting of nine years in minor league baseball. Pugliese and Jodie reunite after teaming up at Somerset in the Atlantic League in 2019. Pugliese pitched eight seasons in the affiliated ranks and boasts a 38-26 career record with a 3.36 ERA in 274 appearances and 48 starts. He spent 2011-2018 in the Cubs’ system before his release, and pitched with York of the Atlantic League in 2018. Pugliese reached Double-A in the Cubs’ system in four consecutive years from 2015-2018.
