Hjelle is a corner infielder and outfielder that joins the Saltdogs in 2026 after beginning the summer with the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks.

2025:   Played 92 games for the Boise Hawks, batting .338 with 26 home runs and 102 runs batted in, earning Pioneer League Post-Season All-Star recognition as an outfielder.

2024:  Concluded his collegiate career with the Minnesota-Crookston Golden Eagles, batting .317 with 13 home runs and 50 RBIs, earning All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference First Team honors.  Started his professional career with the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks, playing in 30 games, batting .252 with three home runs and eleven runs batted in.  Then, played 18 games for the Ottawa Titans, in the Frontier League, batting .245 with one home run and four RBIs.

2023:   Played in 57 games for the Golden Eagles in his junior season, batting .401 with 24 home runs and 79 runs batted in, earning Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player-of-the-Year honors, and ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-American First Team honors.  During the summer, he played 27 games for the Willmar Stingers, in the Northwoods League, batting .290 with three home runs and 13 runs batted in.

2022:  In his sophomore season at Minnesota-Crookston, Hjelle played in 45 games, batting .314 with 13 home runs and 38 runs batted in.  During the summer, he played 43 games for the Bismarck Larks, in the Northwoods League, batting .227 with seven home runs and 25 runs batted in.

2021:  As a second-year freshman for the Golden Eagles, he played in 30 games, batting .336 with ten home runs and 34 runs batted in.  During the summer, he played in 51 games for the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks, in the Expedition League, batting .342 with six home runs and 38 runs batted in.

2020:   During the abbreviated COVID season, Hjelle played in 13 games for Minnesota-Crookston, batting .286 with one home run and six runs batted in.
