Delano begins his second season with the Lincoln Saltdogs after making his professional debut w/ Lincoln in 2021. As a two-way standout at Mercer University in 2021, Delano was one of five John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year finalists — an award eventually given to Nebraska’s Spencer Schwellenbach. Undrafted after his senior season in 2021, Delano made his debut with the Saltdogs on Jul. 21, 2021. His first pitching performance was highlighted by retiring the first seven batters he faced — including five strikeouts — and he came two outs short of the first perfect game in American Association history when he went 19-up, 19-down in a seven-inning game in Milwaukee on August 11.
